It's that time of the year again-----Every year the birds start flocking and gathering in the trees in and around my backyard, practicing for their flight to warmer climes for the winter season. It is so interesting to watch and listen to! They start around 6PM and all land in the nearby trees, chirping up a storm. After several minutes, they all get completely quiet, then all take off together, circling around high in the sky, then land in another tree. Then they start all over again. It goes on for about one to two hours. I always look forward to it. It reminds me that my favorite time of year, autumn, is just around the corner.
