My grandson turns 8 years old tomorrow, on Easter Sunday this year! So my daughter had his birthday party today, at her home in the country. I filled some eggs with candy and some $1 bills, and hid them in her backyard. They really had a good time looking for them. It's so much fun doing little things with kids that they'll remember when they get older. I only hid 20 eggs---next year I plan on hiding a lot more. These kids really found them quickly. Maybe I didn't hide them well enough. Oh well... I was pretty pooped after a Friday that consisted of baking 2 loaves of orange-almond braided coffee cake and a batch of sour cream cookies, decorated for Easter. I divided them up amongst my children. Tomorrow I'll fix a nice breakfast with the bacon my daughter gave me from their pig(poor piggie!), along with eggs, pancakes, and the coffee cake I made. I'm sure I'll pick at the goodies the Easter bunny brings while I fix our morning meal! Dinner will be at my mother-in-laws after
church. That will be at 1:00, since my other daughter has to go to work at the hospital by 3:00. Have a blessed Easter, everyone!

  1. Good thing you didn't post the exclusive photos you sent me for the web site, those these are similar. How was the orange-almond braid? Would you make it again? Sure looks yummy! Yes, you do great stuff with the grandkids. Wish my only grandchild lived closer:(
