My husband and I went for a walk yesterday at a nearby park that runs along the Susquehanna River. We always took all of our 5 children there when they were young. There are quite a few miles of walking trails there, and you can hike down through the wooded areas. This tree, which fell and then grew offshoots, was always a favorite to my kids. They all climbed up on it and tried walking along it without falling off. They were only 3-5 years old, so it was a big challenge to them. I always think of them when we go by there. Yesterday, we also walked through the woods to the riverbank. The water is still quite high. In a few weeks it will be all covered with new growth and harder to see the river, but the paths will still be visible. I can't wait for the GREEN!

  1. Pay dirt! I was hoping you would have a new post! I LOVE that tree---I can see why the kids would like it so much. Yes, you will be seeing a lot of GREEN soon, but not thanks to our dear Governor who is taxing anything that isn't nailed down, and then some. Hope things are calming down in the Binghamton area---sorry your home town is not known for a senseless act.
    Keep those posts coming!
